MC Electric Vehicles Strives to be
Leader in NEV Sales
With
dealerships in Seattle, Spokane and Portland, MC Electric Vehicles
hopes to become an industry leader in the sales and service of
neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs). The company is well on its
way, becoming a certified dealership for three major manufacturers:
Dynasty Motorcars, Columbia Par Car, and Tiger Truck.
In
March 2004, MC Electric Vehicles was presented a certificate as
master dealer from George Bushek, President of Columbia
Par Car. Columbia is a multimillion dollar privately held
company based out of Reedsburg, Wisconsin. The
company has been making cars for over 50 years, producing
gasoline and electric vehicles that include golf carts, industrial
vehicles and a variety of neighborhood electric vehicles.

| On March 30, 2004, MC
Electric Vehicles owner Jim Johnson received its master
dealer certificate from George Bushek of Columbia Par Car.
The event drew considerable attention from TV and print
media. |
"We
are excited about having Mr. Bushek come to Seattle," says MC
Electric Vehicles owner Jim Johnson. "It shows his commitment
to the area and his belief in the growth of electric vehicles in the
Northwest."
Johnson
has sold machinery and parts for 26 years with Machinery Components
Company. He made the decision to start selling neighborhood electric
vehicles because, he says "they are not only better for the
air, but thanks to improvements in technology, they are cheaper to
operate." According to Johnson, NEV operating costs can be as
low as 50 cents a day.
MC
Electric Vehicles also carries two other lines of electric vehicles:
the Tiger Truck
line from Dallas, Texas and the IT car from Dynasty
Motorcar in Vancouver, BC.
Johnson
plans to set up retail dealerships throughout Washington, Montana,
Idaho, Oregon and British Columbia. The dealerships will sell,
service and repair electric vehicles.
NEVs are small
electric vehicles with a top speed of 25 mph. In 2003, the
Washington State Legislature passed the NEV bill, which allows these
vehicles to be licensed for on-road use on streets of 35 mph or
less. NEVs are also street legal in Oregon and numerous other
states.
More
information on NEVs, including photos, other manufacturers and
dealers, and the state laws related to NEVs is available.
