Trade Associations and Development Programs

California Fuel Cell Partnership is a unique collaborative of auto manufacturers, energy companies, fuel cell technology companies, and government agencies working to demonstrate the viability of fuel cell technology and develop economical fuel cell vehicles.  The website provides detailed information about the Partnership, hydrogen, fuel cells and much more.

Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) is the industry association working to advance electric vehicle transportation technologies and supporting infrastructure through policy, information and market development initiatives.  The website includes detailed information on existing and future electric vehicle technologies.  

Hybrid Electric Vehicle Program officially began in 1993. The program was developed as a five-year cost-shared program that was a partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the three largest American auto manufacturers: General Motors, Ford, and DaimlerChrysler.  This website provides information about the program, details about hybrid vehicles, and links to additional resources.

National Biodiesel Board The NBB is the national trade association representing the biodiesel industry as the coordinating body for research and development in the United States. The NBB website offers detailed information about biodiesel fuel, current biodiesel users, access to numerous reports, and updates on federal legislation affecting biodiesel and biodiesel users.  

National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition The mission of the NEVC is to promote the use of 85 percent ethanol as a renewable form of alternative transportation fuel while enhancing agricultural profitability, advancing environmental stewardship and promoting national energy independence.  The website provides detailed information about ethanol, vehicle availability, fueling locations, and a pricing worksheet.  

Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition The NGVC is a national organization dedicated to the development of a growing, sustainable and profitable natural gas vehicle market.  The website provides information on available natural gas vehicles, the benefits of NGVs, and updates on government policies and legislation.  

Propane Education and Research Council  PERC promotes the safe, efficient use of odorized propane gas as a preferred energy source through investments in research, safety, and consumer initiatives.  

Renewable Fuels Association RFA is the national trade association for the U.S. ethanol industry.  The website resources include: information on ethanol and the production process, publications and discussion of public policy and legislation.

U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities Program  A great resource for people interested in the Clean Cities Program and how to increase the use of alternative fuels and vehicles.  Find contact information, up-coming events, success stories and more.  There are links to many of the Clean Cities participating in the program and there are many reports and documents available. 

Alternative Fuels Data Center  AFDC has more than 3,000 documents available. Resources include searching for topics of interest, an interactive alternative fuel refueling site mapping system, listings of available alternative fuel vehicles, program information, and links to numerous related sites.  Visit the website or call 1-800-423-1DOE.  

Alternative Fuel Vehicle Fleet Buyer's Guide  Using the Vehicle Buyer's Guide, you can learn about different technologies, view vehicle lists with pricing and technical specifications, locate nearby alternative fuel stations, contact a dealer or industry expert, learn about financial incentives, and more.

Puget Sound Clean Air Agency
 
Learn about the many sources of air pollution, the Agency's programs to reduce air pollution in the Puget Sound region, and what you can do to reduce air pollution . Website features include air quality forecasts, permit notices, public hearing announcements, a "just for kids" section, and information on the Diesel Solutions program to reduce emissions from diesel vehicles.

Pollution Prevention Resource Center  PPRC is a leading resource for promoting a cleaner environment through pollution prevention. PPRC provides high quality, unbiased information, facilitates information exchange, and catalyzes pollution prevention projects. 

 California Air Resources Board  This website includes the Buyer's Guide to Cleaner Cars and specific information regarding emissions standards and specific vehicle emission levels. 

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency  The EPA is an excellent source of information on air quality and pollution sources.  The website features information on mobile sources of air pollution, the impacts of light-duty automobiles and heavy-duty diesel vehicles, tips to save gas and improve mileage, a fuel economy guide that allows side-by-side comparisons of vehicles, and information on what you can do to reduce pollution. EPA also has a variety of information on alternative fuels, including a number of two-page fact sheets available to download.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory The U.S. Department of Energy's premier laboratory for research and development on renewable energy and energy efficiency. The website provides details on the work of NREL and access to numerous reports and publications.
