Natural Gas Refueling Information

Compressed Natural Gas

Fast-Fill Fueling Stations:  There are several compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling stations open to the public in the Puget Sound region. Stations can be found near SeaTac Airport, in Tacoma, in Everett and in Factoria. Addresses with links to maps will be added shortly. For now, you can go to this website for information on three of those four stations.

Refueling Appliances:  Fueling of natural gas vehicles is possible through the use of a fast- and slow-fill systems that can be installed at a residence or business. FuelMaker Corporation has a full line of Vehicle Refueling Appliances (VRA) to provide a convenient and inexpensive means to refuel vehicles on site.  Fast- and slow-fill systems are available for installation at residences or businesses.  Models ranging in price from $6,000 to $20,000, plus installation. FuelMaker also provides special promotions in conjunction with several automobile manufacturers to reduce the cost of the fueling equipment and natural gas vehicles. An exclusive discount is provided to Clean Cities stakeholders and coordinators. FuelMaker and American Honda Motor Company will release Phill, a residential natural gas refueling appliance, to the market in the fall of 2003, following a three-month in-use evaluation of 100 units. At the conclusion of the evaluation period, Phill will be available to consumers and will be marketed closely with the Honda Civic GX. Initial refueling units will cost around $2,000. Once production of the units increases, the price could drop significantly - possibly as low as $1,000.

Liquefied Natural Gas
There are currently only a limited number of liquefied natural gas refueling systems in Puget Sound, all of which are privately held and not open to use by others.
