Announces 2002 National Partner Awards
May 2003The
Department of Energy recently announced the winners of its 2002
National Partner Awards at the 8th National Clean Cities Conference
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. These awards honor companies,
government entities and individuals that have made significant,
long-term contributions to advancing the use of alternative fuels in
cars and trucks. Among the
winners were Puget Sound Clean Cities Coalition members the City of
Tacoma, ENRG Fuels USA, Inc. (now known as Clean Energy Fuels
Corporation) and the American Lung Association. The City
of Tacoma was honored for leading the Northwest in the use of
biodiesel in its fleets of refuse haulers and recycling
trucks. ENRG Fuels was recognized for its helping to establish
more than 90 natural gas fueling stations in North America.
And the American Lung Association was awarded for its support of 26
local coalitions within the Clean Cities network. These
entities join Coalition member Pierce Transit in the National
Partner "Hall of Fame".
